W.O. Grubb was founded in 1962 by Willie O. Grubb, the son of a crane operator. In 1985, his son, Bill Grubb, purchased the company, continuing his father’s legacy of hard work and dedication. Under Bill’s leadership, W.O. Grubb experienced remarkable growth and success over the next four decades, earning a reputation for honesty, integrity, and exceptional service—values that were deeply rooted in Bill’s own principles. Bill became an industry icon, known for his unwavering commitment to quality and excellence.

“For over six decades, we’ve built a strong legacy of dedicated team members,” said Bill. “Today, we employ hundreds of professionals, including project managers, engineers, maintenance technicians, dispatchers, drivers, riggers, operators, and many other skilled personnel. Our team is known for its ingenuity, dependability, and commitment to safety.”

The Grubb family’s mission has always been to provide the services, equipment, and expertise needed by our customers in the safest, most efficient, and responsive manner possible. At W.O. Grubb, we continue to place a premium on personal service and, above all, safety.
In 2024, the W.O. Grubb Crane Rental family lost Bill Grubb after a long battle with illness. Bill was more than just an industry icon—he was a mentor, a friend, and a beloved leader. While he was a private man and rarely spoke of his own accomplishments, Bill took great pride in the company his father founded, as well as the enduring relationships we’ve built with our customers and partners over the years.

Since 1962, W.O. Grubb has come a long way, but our dedication to going above and beyond has never wavered. Bill’s legacy will continue to inspire us as we move forward.
